On Tuesday, March 6th, the Clements Center for National Security is honored welcome UT alumna Jessica Trisko Darden back to the Forty Acres for a talk on "Foreign Aid and Countering Violent Extremism" at 12:15pm at the LBJ School (SRH 3.122). Dr. Trisko Darden is a Jeane Kirkpatrick fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and Assistant Professor at American University. This talk is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Former U.S. Sen. Fred Harris (D-OK), an original member of the Kerner Commission, will partake in a panel discussion on the relevance of the historic document and the surrounding events to today's political, cultural and social climate. Other panel members will include Dr. Alan Curtis, president and CEO of the Eisenhower Foundation, Dr. Kihana Miraya Ross (IUPRA post-doc) and Dr. Peniel Joseph, founding director of the program’s co-host, the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy. The session will be moderated by Dr. Eric Tang, associate professor in the African and African Diaspora Studies Department and director of the Social Justice Institute.

Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, for a talk on climate change in South Asia. The event is part of the Strauss Center's Brumley Speaker Series, and is free and open to the public.
