Joseph, Founding Director of the CSRD, to discuss Race, Democracy, and Sport 1968-2018. Fifty years after Olympic sprinters set the world on fire with raised fists in Mexico City, how much has changed? On March 27th, please join the Clements Center for National Security for a professional development workshop on competitive application writing, designed to improve students' ability to write and apply for competitive internships, fellowships and jobs. This workshop will be held on March 27th at 12:30pm in CLA 1.302B.
Led by Clements Predoctoral Fellow and Oxford University doctoral candidate Jon Askonas, this workshop will help students develop tools to improve their writing, establish a compelling narrative and clearly communicate goals.
On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, the Robert Strauss Center welcomes Amy Zegart, co-director of the Stanford Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) and Davies Family Senior Fellow and Associate Director for Academic Affairs with the Hoover Institution, for a talk on cybersecurity. The talk is part of the Strauss Center's Brumley Speaker Series. The event is free and open to the public.

The nation’s leading scholar on the history, relevance, and continued importance of the Black Panthers, Dr. Yohuru R. Williams, and Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy, Dr. Peniel E. Joseph, will discuss the political history behind the cultural event of 2018, Black Panther. The conversation will link the acclaimed film and its themes of activism, ancestry and injustice to the similar struggles addressed by the Black Panthers historically.
