Governor's Center Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing via email to gcmd@austin.utexas.edu. Participants must notify their agency liaison (if applicable) and the Governor's Center for Management Development (GCMD). Cancellations received three (3) or more business days before the class date for virtual classes and seven (7) or more business days before the class date for in-person classes will not be billed. After that, cancellations are subject to the entire class tuition. Substitutions for registered participants will be accepted at least one full business day before the start of the class. Please note that if you don't cancel and don't attend, you will be billed for the full tuition.

Courses must obtain a minimum number of enrollments in order to be conducted. If your course is canceled due to low enrollment, then we will notify you via email as far in advance as possible. GCMD reserves the right to substitute instructors, change course and program dates, change the modality and/or cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. GCMD is not responsible for any travel or lodging expenses incurred by participants. Please contact us at gcmd@austin.utexas.edu or visit the program website for confirmation that your program will be conducted prior to making travel arrangements. In the event of a cancellation, you may request a tuition transfer to another course within one year of enrollment or request a full refund. Please allow a minimum of seven (7) days for processing the refund from the date of the request.

Reschedules, Transfers, and Withdrawals

In the event a participant cannot attend a class, they must follow the following procedure to reschedule, transfer or withdraw.

Reschedule

If a participant needs to reschedule to a new class date, they must notify their agency liaison (if applicable) and GCMD at gcmd@austin.utexas.edu. Please provide the name of the original class and date you were to attend with the new class and date you would like to reschedule to and there will be an updated registration confirmation sent. If the request is made less than 24 hours prior to the start of the originally scheduled class, GCMD has the right to discretionary charges on a case-by-case basis.

Transfer

If a participant needs to transfer to a different class, they must notify their agency liaison (if applicable) and GCMD at gcmd@austin.utexas.edu. Please provide the name of the original class and date you were to attend with the new class and date you would like to reschedule to and there will be an updated registration confirmation sent. If the request is made less than 24 hours prior to the start of the original scheduled class GCMD has the right to discretionary charges on a case-by-case basis.

Withdraw

Alternatively, if at least three (3) business days or more before your course or program start date, you may request to transfer your registration to another course of equal or lesser value scheduled within 12 months of your original purchase date or request a credit on file that is valid for 12 months from your original purchase date. If transferring to a course of lesser value, the difference will result in a credit on file and cannot be refunded.  If within 12 months of your original purchase date you fail to attend the course that you transferred into or fail to use the credit on file, your original registration fee is forfeited.

Refunds

Refunds will be provided if the GCMD is notified three (3) business days prior to the start of training.   You may substitute another attendee in your place if you are unable to attend, at no additional cost. Please email gcmd@austin.utexas.edu with the substitute’s name and email address at least one full business day before the start of the course. (Additional information may be requested if needed).

Inclement Weather

If inclement weather is anticipated, we will make a post on our website www.lbj.utexas.edu/gcmd and notify participants by email of late starts, rescheduling, and/or cancellations. It is the participant’s responsibility to check their email (and spam folder) and/or the website for updates. GCMD is not responsible for any travel or lodging expenses incurred by participants due to inclement weather.
