New Undergraduate Minors
The LBJ School of Public Affairs is launching two new undergraduate minors for Spring 2027 in National Security and International Development. Each is a flexible, 15-credit-hour program open to all undergraduates in any UT Austin college or school regardless of major.
And you don't have to wait to get started! Coursework you've already completed or are taking right now may count once you're admitted. Applications for Spring 2027 are now open!
National Security
This minor gives undergraduates the history, theories, tools and real-world context to understand how national security crises unfold and how U.S. policy responds.
Dig into the politics, institutions and strategy behind national security decision-making.
International Development
This applied, policy-focused minor introduces students to the history, theory and practice of international development while building program management and evaluation skills.
Prepare for careers in nonprofits and the public and private sector, at home or abroad.
