Objectives
1. Explain the core principles of operational excellence and accountability in the public sector.
2. Identify and define key performance indicators (KPIs) that align organizational goals with operational outcomes.
3. Use basic performance data to inform decision-making and improvement efforts, recognizing the limitations of metrics.
4. Apply practical strategies to improve public sector customer service by balancing efficiency, consistent service delivery across populations, and stakeholder expectations.
5. Assess how budget constraints affect operational priorities and service delivery, including trade-offs involved in “doing more with less.”
6.  Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and digital transformation, including automation and data systems.
7. Explain how emerging technologies, including AI, can support operational effectiveness and accountability, while recognizing ethical and governance considerations.
8. Develop a high-level operational improvement action plan that integrates performance measurement, service quality, fiscal responsibility, and technology.

Program Knowledge Level
This basic course is for managers that want to learn how to better manage their time to be a more efficient and effective leader.
