Public Policies in Israel

Professor David Nachmias will give guest lectures for this course as part of the LBJ School faculty and student exchange with IDC Herzliya. The lectures will take place Mondays and Fridays, 9:00 am-12:00 pm, September 11-25.

Professor Nachmias is the Head of Specialization in Policy and Public Administration, Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at IDC Herzliya. He is considered one of the leading scholars in public policy and government studies. More information on Professor Nachmias can be found on IDC's website.

The course will cover the processes of formation, implementation and evaluation of public policies in parliamentary democracies in general and in Israel in particular from an analytical as well as empirical perspective. It will examine major domestic, defense and foreign policies and the challenges that have faced elected officials as well as appointed administrators.
