Bill Shute named Executive Director of LBJ Washington Center

Robin Boone becomes associate director, responsible for day-to-day activities, special events and expansion of the DC program.

Bill Shute, interim director of the LBJ Washington Center and former vice chancellor of federal relations with The University of Texas System, has agreed to stay on as executive director of the Center, it was announced by Angela Evans, dean of the LBJ School.

As executive director, Shute will lead the operations of the LBJ Washington Center, fostering growth of DC-based academic and nonacademic programs to enhance experiential and employment opportunities for students and raise the visibility and impact of the center as a federal policy hub tied to a top-10 policy school. Key responsibilities include assessment and planning, operations and support, program development and relationship building.

In addition, Robin Boone, senior academic program coordinator with the center, will assume the duties of associate director, effective immediately. Boone, who has been with the center since its 2015 launch, will assume more direct responsibility over day-to-day activities, special events and the expansion of the Center as it increases the LBJ School’s presence in Washington, DC.
