The LBJ School is a proud supporter of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration’s annual conference, taking place this year in Pittsburg from October 11-13. Leaders from the LBJ School, alongside public policy school peers, will explore the role of public service education in today’s environment during panels, discussions and more.

Hailing from El Paso, Texas, Marliza Anahi Marin-Rabara is a first-generation college student with a diverse academic background, holding undergraduate degrees in History, Political Science, and Psychology from Texas State University. Her commitment to addressing societal challenges, particularly in areas such as immigration, is deeply rooted in her personal experiences as the daughter of Mexican immigrants. Here, she tells us about her academic and professional journey, which includes active engagement in several civic and policy-related activities, and her future plans and aspirations to create a more equitable Texas.

Since earning both a master’s degree and PhD from the LBJ School, Cesar Espinosa Martinez’s career has spanned national security, resilience and business strategy. A few years ago, he founded his own venture, Intelligence Mill, to provide businesses and organizations data-driven research, insights and solutions. Recently, he orchestrated a successful statewide tour fostering cross-border collaborations and talent pipelines, leaving an important mark in both Mexican and U.S. business spheres. Here, he and his wife tell us more about his time at the LBJ School.
