AUSTIN, Texas (Dec. 19, 2025) — The University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs and its Governor’s Center for Management Development is now registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of Continuing Professional Education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
NASBA’s National Registry recognizes providers who offer continuing professional education (CPE) programs in accordance with nationally recognized standards, specifically, the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs.
This designation reflects the LBJ School of Public Affairs, Governor’s Center for Management Development’s approval on the NASBA National Registry of CPE Sponsors. The Governor’s Center and the LBJ School have long served as trusted partners to federal, state and local agencies and have designed programs that translate research and policy knowledge into practical leadership preparation.
As part of UT Austin, one of the nation’s top 10 public universities, the LBJ School has been the #1 ranked public policy school in Texas for more than 50 years and is a national leader in executive and professional education that allows working professionals to upskill and elevate their impact across multiple professional settings. The Governor’s Center offers group live and internet based formats that meet leaders where they are and prepare them to address complex professional and operational challenges.
“With this sponsorship we are able to expand beyond Texas and serve CPAs across the nation through group live and group internet based programs that focus on state government and higher education,” said JR DeShazo, dean of the LBJ School. “This represents a major step for the Governor’s Center as we grow our reach and impact.”
With NASBA approval, the Governor’s Center’s programs will be recognized for continuing professional education credit by state boards of accountancy across the country, expanding access for Certified Public Accountants and other professionals who require accredited continuing education to maintain licensure and advance their careers.
This affiliation enhances the national reach of the Governor’s Center while giving NASBA constituents access to executive education rooted in one of the nation’s most respected public affairs institutions.
