The LBJ School offers 4 master’s degree programs and one PhD program. 

Master of Public Affairs

A leading public affairs program that merges fundamentals with philosophy—preparing students to make an immediate impact in the world.

Master of Global Policy Studies

A degree program designed for leadership in a globalized world, offering an interdisciplinary command of international policymaking.

DC Concentration (MGPS/MPAff)

Find yourself in the room where it happens: an immersive 15 months of accelerated work and study, focusing on domestic and international federal policymaking.

Executive Master of Public Leadership

The LBJ School's Executive Master of Public Leadership prepares nonprofit and public professionals for senior leadership with substantial in-person coursework, interaction with high-performing leaders and working simulations for real world readiness.

PhD in Public Policy

A flexible, multidisciplinary curriculum–emphasizing strong faculty mentorship alongside rigorous analytical and professional training–intended to bridge the gap between academic scholarship and real-world policy impact.

Program Deadlines

We admit a new cohort of students each fall semester. Applications open every September. 

The early funding deadline for the MGPS, MPAff and DC Concentration programs is December 1. The final deadline is March 1.   

 The final deadline for our PhD in Public Policy is December 1.
