Objectives:
1. Learn the elements of the two-year budget cycle.
2. Understand the roles of the legislative and executive branch offices in state budgeting.
3. Develop familiarity with key state statutes and constitutional requirements.
4. Understand the scope of the fiscal landscape in Texas.
Program Knowledge Level:
This basic course is ideal for state agency staff with involvement in the legislative process, program budgeting, the appropriations process, analysis of legislation, and/or management over such areas.
