On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, students from the Strauss Center-sponsored Policy Research Project “Beyond the Border” will present some of the findings and recommendations from nine months researching questions related to Mexico’s migratory policy (integration of refugees, obstacles for unaccompanied minors, the legacy of Programa Frontera Sur, and evaluating migrant detention centers since 2011) and volunteered at a migrant shelter in Guadalajara over winter break. The research was conducted with FM4 Paso Libre, a Mexican non-governmental organization and migrant shelter, and was co-sponsored by LLILAS.

The “Beyond the Border: Central American Migration and Mexico’s Migratory Policy” Policy Research Project focuses on Central American migration from a Mexican policy perspective. It grapples with the complicated questions that Mexico faces as a migration transit corridor and destination for international migrants. More information about this project.
