Description: Students will be immersed in a “learning laboratory” where they will begin by assessing their core public service competencies, clarify their educational and career goals, and set a vision for how they want to achieve social impact. Students will build reflective competencies, as well as a system’s-level view as they interact with a range of stakeholders across an issue ecosystem.
Through an intensive field exploration experience, students will develop an understanding of a complex, multi-faceted policy challenge of their choice, as well as build substantive expertise, generate a professional network, and enhance relational, communication, and networking skills fundamental to catalyzing solutions in the policymaking sphere.
Students will benefit from guidance from a multi-disciplinary teaching team devoted to their success, made up of faculty from across the UT campus, as well as a social entrepreneur and life designer.
