The LBJ School is proud to announce the launch of "Remembering Professor Barbara Jordan: An LBJ School Oral History," a collection of memories and first-hand experiences celebrating the extraordinary life and legacy of public servant and public policy professor, Barbara Jordan.
"A great teacher is with you forever….in the beliefs you hold, in the way you think things through and in the actions you take."
DeAnn Friedholm (MPAff ’79), Barbara Jordan's first teaching assistant
A pupil of Barbara Jordan, Brad Englert (MPAFF ’84), approached the LBJ School with the idea of collecting stories from alumni who had the privilege of learning from such a trailblazing teacher. Because of his vision and financial support, Barbara Jordan’s multifaceted legacy can be fully realized and enjoyed in perpetuity by all.
Immortalized with a statue on our campus, UT professor and legendary Texan Barbara Jordan would have celebrated her 88th birthday today.
