Getting to work, school, or the doctor's office is crucial for everyone. Yet, in many areas, outdated planning and unfair policies have left us with transportation systems that are hard to access. This event zeroes in on public transit, looking at how it connects with local policies, community development, money challenges, and fairness. Experts will break down different viewpoints and offer practical tips on how to create policies that make sure everyone can use public transportation easily. Speakers include:
- Moderator: Andrew Waxman, Assistant Professor, LBJ School of Public Affairs
- Alex Karner, Associate Professor, UT School of Architecture
- Anna Lan, Manager of Transit Oriented Development, CapMetro
- Diane Jones Allen, Director and Professor, Landscape Architecture at UT Arlington
- Heather Way, Director, Housing Policy Clinic, UT School of Law
