The Patman Center for Civic and Political Engagement proudly marks its one-year anniversary this November, celebrating a year of significant impact and community building. Since its inception, The Patman Center has supported 93 students, hosted 44 events with 49 speakers, and received 1,836 event registrations. Additionally, the Center has awarded $70,000 in scholarships to fund experiential learning for students.

The anniversary celebration featured the first Leadership Symposium, an event that brought together Patman scholars, students, and past speakers. The evening began with a networking reception, followed by a keynote conversation with former U.S. Representative Mimi Walters (R-California) and former Ambassador Ron Kirk (D), moderated by Evan Smith. Discussions touched on the state of democracy and the challenges of bipartisan leadership.

This impactful year for The Patman Center underscores its commitment to supporting students and fostering democratic engagement.
