Luis Guerrero | LBJ School of Public Affairs | The University of Texas at Austin

Luis Guerrero is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in global studies and peace, war & defense.

Prior to graduate school, Guerrero served in AmeriCorps, then worked in the Washington and Austin offices of Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) as director of operations.

At LBJ, he is involved with the Policy Alliance of Communities of Color (PACC) and is a senior student associate at the Strauss Center for International Security and Law. He also serves as a co-chair of the New Leaders Council's Latino Caucus.

Guerrero is interested in civic engagement, particularly in expanding the two-way dialogue between the federal government and Latino communities. He hopes to find a Policy Apprenticeship in a government agency focused on outreach, such as the Office of Public Engagement.

Policy interest: Latino civic engagement
