Seminar 2: The interface between health systems and health policy aimed at improving access to care for certain populations through telemedicine and expansion through the Affordable Care Act of the community health centers program and the National Health Service Corps. The impact of the health center and NHSC programs in Texas will be incorporated to illustrate local impact of federal policy decisions.

Mary K. Wakefield, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, who served in the Obama administration as acting United States Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services from 2015 to 2017, and as head of the Health Resources and Services Administration from 2009 to 2015, will host a seminar series during the spring 2018 semester on "Healthcare Policy: Lessons Learned from the Beltway." All seminars are free and will be held 5:30–8 p.m. on Thursday evenings. However, space is limited and registration is required. Click here to register for one or more of the seminars.
