Fall 2025 - 65355 - PA 682GA - Policy Research Project on Global Policy Issues

INTERNATIONAL FOOD SYSTEM

Over the past decade, the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems (IPES) has worked with a range of organizations to develop local, national and regional food policies that support a transition to foodways that are robust against climate change. Previous PRP students have supported inputs into the US Farm Bill, the EU Common Agricultural Policy, and the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP 26). This year we'll continue to serve the needs of the International Panel's research on food sovereignty for the groups like La Via Campesina, the international peasant federation. We'll also serve more local clients, like the City of Austin and the Refugee Coalition, who are interested in developing public procurement systems that can provide good work and good food to a range of communities in Central Texas.
