FOUNDATIONS OF PUBLIC POLICY
Foundations in Public Policy is a required first year course for all incoming PhD students at the LBJ School. It is designed to provide an intellectual grounding in the field of public policy, drawing on classic or “canonical” works that have influence the trajectory of public policy research and practice for the past 100 years. The course emphasizes critical reading and analysis, with approximately 200-250 pages of reading per week. LBJ MA students or UT PhD Students from other departments may enroll in the course only with the permission of the instructor.
