AFFORDABLE HOUSING POLICY
Course Description: This course explores the historical, social, economic, planning, political, and policy dimensions of housing and the roles of public, nonprofit, and private entities. We will focus on the United States with some comparisons to Europe and others. Students will examine current challenges and debates in housing such as affordability, homelessness, segregation, sustainability, and equitable access. Through case studies, discussions, guest lectures, policy analysis exercises, and research students will gain practical insights into the challenges and opportunities of housing policy formulation and implementation, and the implications for people and communities.
