GLOBAL DISINFORMATION
This PRP will focus on the comparison of disinformation policies in the US and India. Using comparative case study design, students will delve into the methodological and analytical challenges of identifying and analyzing the component structures of disinformation / misinformation policies in US states (e.g. Texas vs California) and Indian states (e.g. Uttar Pradesh v Bihar). The objective of the PRP is to generate novel scholarship in the emerging field of information disorder by understanding how emerging policies compare across subnational and national contexts.
