2022 LBJ DC Fellow
Cynthia Kay Niemeyer is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is also a licensed professional civil engineer in Texas.
Previously Niemeyer worked at Chevron as a facilities engineer, which encouraged her interest in federal energy policy, particularly in the context of advocating for the oil and gas industry through the energy transition while championing a green diversification of energy resources.
At LBJ, Niemeyer is involved with the UT Energy Symposium through the Energy Institute and will study how policy impacts energy law.
