Tell us about your professional journey after you left the LBJ School.
AKE: I've stayed with the same organization since graduating and have been able to advance my career during that time. I find that I still reference my notes from grad school from time to time; they are still very relevant.

What is your current title and employer?
AKE: President/CEO of Texas Healthcare Trustees.

What is one skill you learned at the LBJ School that you still use in your professional career today?
AKE: There are so many process and program management tools I continue to use that were first introduced to me in EMPL. Additionally, I still try to keep focus on the leadership philosophies from Dr. Bales and Dr. Suri; specifically, how intentional and reflective we need to be as leaders.

What advice would you give current students as they prepare to graduate and go out into the policy arena?
AKE: Take time to identify what is important to you, your values, and always lead with integrity.

What was your most treasured memory from your time at the LBJ School?
AKE: Friday evening classes, catching up on the week with my peers before and after class, and the lively and insightful conversations we had throughout the program.
