The State of the Democratic Party in the Age of Trump. Feisty? Resurgent? Outplayed?

After the 2016 election, Democratic factions went into blame mode, with supporters of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders trading accusations about who really triggered the loss. But with the 2017 Women's March, the angst turned to action. Millions of Trump opponents marched -- and then they plugged into electoral politics, leading to major wins in the 2017 elections in Virginia and New Jersey and the Alabama Senate special election. Then came the DACA mess and the government shutdown -- and suddenly Democrats looked overmatched again. Which party -- which leaders, and which voters -- will turn up in the 2018 midterms?
