Peter Clark is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Instruction at the LBJ School with a focus on Policy Communications. For over 25 years, Peter has worked to influence policy decisions by shaping public debates and communicating with policymakers.
Peter currently serves as the Communications Director for the nonprofit advocacy organization Texans Care for Children, a position he has held since 2014. At Texans Care for Children, he has played a key role in advocacy campaigns focused on the Texas Legislature, including successful efforts to pass full-day pre-k, extend postpartum Medicaid health coverage for Texas moms, and secure a historic increase in state funding for child care.
Peter also worked for elected officials for a number of years, running the Capitol office of State Rep. Mike Villarreal from 2006 to 2014 and serving as a legislative aide to Congressman Bob Filner in Washington, DC. He previously worked for human rights organizations in Washington, DC, Colombia, and Mexico.
