On February 4, 2026, LBJ School of Public Affairs Professor Sachin Shah, in partnership with the Ukraine Facility Platform (UAFP), is honored to co-host a one-day expert policy dialogue in Brussels, focusing on implementation pathways for Ukraine’s agricultural recovery and European Union accession.
The convening will be led and facilitated by Professor Sachin Shah with Dr. Olga Trofimtseva (UAFP). Designed for a small group of senior EU policymakers, scientific experts, and practitioners, the dialogue will move beyond diagnosis to identify what is deliverable—within real-world policy, funding, and governance constraints.
Building on a growing science-to-policy track record
The Brussels dialogue is the next step in an ongoing series of science-policy workshops hosted with international partners, including earlier convenings in Washington, D.C. (October 2024) and Warsaw (July 2025) that brought together Ukrainian, EU, and international experts to co-develop actionable pathways for Ukraine’s agricultural resilience and EU alignment.
Together, Mr. Shah and UAFP have developed a Roadmap for Ukraine’s Transformative Adaptation, structured around four interlinked pillars:
Institutional capacity and governance
EU policy alignment and CAP reform
Climate resilience and water–land management
Rural development, youth, and human capital
A working dialogue—designed for practical decisions.
