
On Tuesday, September 23, the Clements Center for National Security with the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies(CREEES) and the Moody College of Communication will host Jill Dougherty for a book talk on My Russia: What I Saw Inside the Kremlin. Jill Dougherty is an expert on Russia and the region. She served as CNN’s Moscow Bureau Chief for almost a decade. Other postings include White House Correspondent; Foreign Affairs Correspondent covering the U.S. State Department; U.S. Affairs Editor; and Managing Editor of CNN International, Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong. She is currently a CNN on-air Contributor, commenting on Russia-related issues. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies.
Currently, Dougherty is a CNN on-air Contributor, offering commentary on Russia-related issues. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies.Her research on Russia and the media has been supported by fellowships at the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government; the Woodrow Wilson Center; and the International Centre for Defence and Security in Tallinn, Estonia.
Her articles, book reviews, and commentary have appeared in TheAtlantic.com, Politico.com, WilsonQuarterly.com, WashingtonPost.com, CNN.com, and other publications. She is the author of My Russia: What I Saw from the Kremlin, a book chronicling her decades-long experiences in Russia and the region.
Dougherty is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the World Affairs Council.
