Course description:

Impact investing and sustainable finance have emerged as a powerful tool for harnessing private sector capital for social and environmental impact. This course examines the role financial innovations will play in the transition to a just, inclusive, and regenerative future. We will study specific areas of innovation and the actors in this space, from foundations to social venture capitalists, from nonprofits to government agencies, from family offices to pension funds. Classes will involve a combination of lectures, discussions, and guest speakers. Students will be evaluated through quizzes, a midterm, and individual and team projects.
