What I do
I recently started working as a policy fellow at the College Board, where I support K-12 and higher education policy initiatives aimed at expanding access and equity for students across the country. Before that, I spent over two years as a staffer in the Texas Legislature, where I worked on a broad range of policy issues and oversaw constituent outreach during both the 88th and 89th Legislative Sessions.

What inspires my passion for public service
Working at the Texas Capitol showed me how policy decisions directly impact people’s lives—from healthcare access to public education funding. Being part of the legislative process and seeing the real-world consequences of policy choices is what solidified my commitment to public service.

What I love most about my job
The challenge of taking complex policy issues and working to turn them into actionable, people-centered solutions. Whether at the Texas Legislature or now in a national policy role, what motivates me most is knowing the work I do can help shape systems that better serve students, families, and communities.

Something that might surprise people
People are often surprised by how much policy work relies on communication and relationship-building. Whether you’re drafting a bill or coordinating with stakeholders, it’s about trust, collaboration, and being willing to learn from others.
