"Retired Adm. William McRaven said May 23 that anyone convicted of a war crime should not receive a pardon from President Trump.

“'We are a nation of laws. And one of the laws that the military always follows is the law of armed conflict. So if someone has been found guilty of violating the law of armed conflict and committing a war crime, I think it is a very, very slippery slope if we start pardoning individuals like that,' McRaven said in an appearance on CNN."
