Master of Global Policy students Mary Vo, Lina Nabulsi and Cassie Gianni penned an op-ed advocating for congressional funding of the new Global Food Security Act. A fully funded GFSA would support programs to “enhance the nutritional health and agricultural livelihood activities of poor women in less developed countries.”

“Food insecurity and malnutrition harm millions of women and children worldwide,” they write, but “women wield a tremendous potential for improving worldwide food security and nutrition.” They also provide numbers to substantiate that “improving children’s nutrition is one of the most cost-effective investments to reduce extreme poverty.”
