Author and Political Theorist William Bennett to Discuss ‘Education Policy and the American Future’ at Feb 4. Public Lecture

Former Secretary of Education William Bennett will discuss “Education Policy and the American Future” at a public lecture in Austin, Texas on Feb. 4 at 4 PM.
Sponsored by the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, the event will be held in the newly opened Liberal Arts Building in the Julius Glickman Conference Center, room 1.302B.
A graduate of the university’s PhD program in philosophy, Bennett is a respected scholar and academic who has authored 20 books, including two New York Times best-sellers. Bennett also hosts the nationally syndicated conservative radio talk show “Morning in America” and appears regularly on CNN.
Bennett has held several cabinet-level positions including Secretary of Education under President Ronald Reagan and Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy under President George H.W. Bush.
Bennett is the chairman of K12, Inc., an online education company, and as a Senior Advisor to Project Lead the Way, a nonprofit organization which is one of the nation’s leading providers of training and curriculum to improve STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education in American schools.
