Drs. James and Claudia Richter have generously established three endowments at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, focused on solving issues in global health policy that are of highest impact and priority of the day. The endowments:
- James M. and Claudia U. Richter Chair in Global Health Policy
- James M. and Claudia U. Richter Endowed Excellence Fund in Health Policy
- James M. and Claudia U. Richter Graduate Fellowship
These endowments allow the LBJ School to recruit and retain top faculty and students in the field of health policy, and in turn give them the opportunity to contribute viable solutions to complex problems on an international scale.
When asked why they decided to give through permanent endowments, the Richters responded with the following quote from President Lyndon B. Johnson:
"I am concerned about the whole man. I am concerned about what the people, using their government as an instrument and a tool, can do toward building the whole man, which will mean a better society and a better world."
We are grateful to the Richters for their generosity, which will benefit the LBJ community in perpetuity.
