Alexandra Murarescu is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She majored in public and nonprofit administration with a minor in human rights as an undergraduate at Grand Valley State University.
As a first-generation United States citizen and through her undergraduate engagement with local nonprofits like Refugee Services of Texas and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, Murarescu developed an interested in immigration policy, particularly in the context of refugee and asylee resettlement.
At LBJ, she is taking a policy development course in U.S. immigration and citizenship policy.
Murarescu hopes to find a Policy Apprenticeship in DC focused on immigration and resettlement policy working with either a think tank or a national not-for-profit organization.
