Technological Innovation in Defense
To form a means of analysis, this course will examine the theory of the factors on motivation and practice that lead to innovation in technologies at the operational level that obviate old practice and create new, often unanticipated capabilities. Following a number of wartime and crisis innovations, we will form a framework for the practice that seems to work most of the time in high stress environments. Students will be evaluated based on involvement in class and on a 12 to 15 page research paper.
