Spring 2014 - 63420 - PA188G - Topics in Global Policy Studies

Security Policy Analysis

Class meets 2/24/14 through 3/31/14.

The purpose of this course is to acquaint the student with the missions, capabilities, and
limits of the conventional forces that make up the bulk of the US military establishment. The course will introduce the student to basic techniques for the assessment of relative military capabilities between adversaries in given theaters of military action. Central to the course will be an examination of historical cases of military action that shed light on current defense issues. Many of these cases are recent, others go back a bit farther.  Student teams will conduct their own campaign analysis as a final project.
