Carlos Olmedo received his BBA in International Business (concentrations in Spanish and French) from UT Austin and an MS in Economics (minor in Statistics) from UT El Paso. He was Associate Director and Principal Economist at the Institute for Policy and Economic Development at UT El Paso prior doctorate studies at the LBJ School. His research specializations include U.S.-Mexico border economics, economic modeling, industry cluster analysis, and workforce development issues. Outside interests include hanging out with friends, live music, watching sports, basketball, and travel.
