The LBJ School of Public Affairs hosted an all-day open house on March 26, which ended a three-day Homecoming Celebration to honor the arrival of the School’s new dean, Robert Hutchings, to celebrate the completion of the School’s $19 million renovation, and to give alumni the opportunity to return to the School, catch-up with classmates and faculty, and to enjoy a special presentation by Dean Robert Hutchings , which was followed by a reception hosted by the Dean and Mrs. Hutchings.

Area Alumni Association presented Kathleen Merrigan ('87), Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture on July 7, 2009, at the Archer Center, part of the University of Texas system, as part of the 2009 LBJ School D.C. Summer Speaker Series, a series of rountable discussions that offer the LBJ School community access to a variety of Washington D.C. policymakers.
